Putting anything in a 1 gal bowl ( except maybe a betta, or hatching eggs) is cruel and unusal punishment. YOu need at least a 5g tank, as they school, and need swimming space. They are coldwater, and no they dotn need aeration, cold water holds oxygen better, and yes, they need filtration.

k thanks..i just have a couple white clouds laying around and was thinking about it.

ive heard people say how hardy they are and such but wont risk the health of my fish. theyre happy with 20 times the space
