I know clown loaches get massive, isit possible to keep a school in a 4ft for a year or so and then upgrade?

Would really love clowns, the dimensions would be 4x2x2.

From many replies i have seen on here people say min 6 foot. Some
Poeple say they will upgrade when the loaches grow, but ypu may have an issue with stunting i think is the term.

Im sure someone with more knowledge will explain this better

I know they grow very slowly and since it will be only for a year I think it'll work but whats your opinion?

imo, wait until you have the permanent large tank home. I'd say 6'x2'x2' is the minimum for a shoal of clown loaches. Unless you already have the massive tank they'll need, don't do it. You may anticipate and plan on this tank coming in, but we all anticipate and plan things, but they don't always happen.

Wait on the upgrade. So many people have the best of intentions but life issues get in the way or the money isn't there they'd hoped for and it doesn't materialise.
Sad but true.
Don't you already have that tank stocked?

Alright ill wait, I guess its better in the long run.
And which tank?
I havent bought my 4ft for my room yet and still not sure on the stocking.
I know you can keep clowns with cichlids but thats out the window now, is there any other loach that willd o well with cichlids?
