Minimum Size For Pair Of Borellis

whats the smallest tank i can comfortably fit a pair of borellis in, perhaps with a few dwarf cories, some ottos, maybe some ember tetras?

Do you mean the Apistogramma sp. AKA Borellii Opal Apisto? If so I have read a pair male and female could live in a 15 Gal as the min. 20 or larger would be best.

That are really pretty fish. I wanted to get some but can't find any.

A 10 G tank is perfectly acceptable, maybe even a 7 galloon tank( a 10 G is about 40 L ). Borelli's are small little fish. If you get a pair, they won't show any agression. They are also very pretty. Good choice IMO . They would look great in a planted tank aswell.

maybe apistogramma borellii, whats that in litres? x

15 US gal = 68 Liters
20 US gal = 75 liters

I have a handy Converter on my compeer. I love my Mac.

I have a handy link on this website...

Oh yeah well mine converts more then just volume. I can convert Currency, Area, weight, energy, time, speed, length, power and pressure. But the sites cool too.

Agreed :good:

I have a pair of the opal variety in a 60 litre tank, with Boraras brigittae and amano shrimp. The male chases the female on occasions, but as the tank has loads of hiding places (real plants, silk plants and caves) no harm has been done. They have sort of spawned twice since I bought them in January - the female lays eggs, but they've been infertile white ones, not red. Maybe they'll get it right eventually.

I would do 20 Liters once a week. Do you have a gravel vacum? They help keep down your nitrates and stop waste buildup.
