Mini Refugium Possible In Whisper 30 Hob Filter?

I have a Whisper 30 power filter from a previous tank setup. I'm wondering if I could use it as a mini refugium?? The size is 8"L X 4 1/2"W X 7 1/4"H. Does about 145pgh. I'm only wanting to put a little blob of cheato in there and I'd put a light over it. Or if Rowaphos would work ok in there, I could just put that in there.

What do you think?? I'd like to use it for something instead of storing it in the basement forever.

You could definitely use it for chemical filtration. for a HOB fuge though I'm not sure if it would be big enough to make that much of a difference (not saying it wont be, just I'm not sure).

Ok thanks, When I get to that stage I'll probably throw a bag of rowaphos in there.

It's for the 29 gallon tank...so I should be able to put a decent amount of Rowaphos in there, hopefully. I was kinda wondering if there was even enough power to make a difference w/having rowaphos in there?? I guess I'll find out

it should work ive seen plenty of people do mods to hob filters
