Fish Gatherer
I have a nerite snail in with my betta sorority; and they keep eating the snails food. No matter what I put in for the snail the greedy little piggies will eat it.
I’ve tried putting the food in at night when they are “sleeping” but no I can hear them going for it. I’ve tried during the day…no they eat it. They eat algae wafers, courgette (they are like a pack of wolves for this), melon…i.e. everything. Plus they’ll eat their own food so they are podgy little bellies lol.
The plus side is I think I’ve figured out who my alpha female is (I’ve had my bets on this girl for a while but I think it’s been confirmed) – she’s the one that eats the snail food first; she’s the one they all give a wide berth to when the snail food is there. When it’s their own food they don’t care.
Moral of the story (that I’m sure everyone already knew) bettas are right little fatties lol.
