Might Have A Problem

ok brief history. after recieving a second hand fluval roma 200 for free under the pretence i recieve the guys fish as well im anticipating a possible ammonia spike occurring. with the tank i recieved a fully mature aqua one 1050 external filter. so after moving the tank, filling it up and de-chlorinating the water, i left it an hour or so and switched the filter on. i had the fish in a large container with a heater and a small filter so wanted them in quite soon. the aquarium got upto temperature and the fish were then added.

anyway 3 days later and everything seems fine and the fish are all active. ive tested the water twice and the ammonia has raised slightly. so im expecting an ammonia spike and i want to be prepared. the options i have are inserting a mature internal filter from my other tank or could an ammo-lock style treatment work.

what do u all think also how high can the ammonia get before i start to get really worried???

It shouldn't be above 0ppm

If you have ammonia do water changes to lower it

worry point is at .25ppm but it should always be zero

if you can spare the filter then id do it but if not water changes and even if you do,water changes lol
