i siphoned off a load of muck from the bottom of my baby tank last night, i haden done it for a while, and was picking out the babies that got sucked up with it and noticed the gunk id sucked up was moving, so i look some into a bit of clear tubing and held it up to the light and to my surprise, it was full of what appear to be micro worms, tiny opaque wriggly things, and also some tiny copypod type things(which i knwo the fry do eat).

are they microworms, or something else?

Microworms don't live long underwater. I've found random worms and thingies in my tanks before... I've never figured out what they were, but as long as the fry think they're yummy, I guess it doesn't matter too much!

im pretty sure those arent microworms if you havent fed them micros before. They should live for a while underwater, ive heard they can even live 12+ hours. I am pretty sure the copepod things are daphnia though.

my last brood basicly lived off the copepod things, they are tiny, much smaller than daphnia. the adults dont touch them but the babied like em. in my last breeding tank i had swarms and swarms of them and the babies loved em!
