A few weeks ago i noticed my fishies looked like they had peices of cotton wool on them so i treated it with metylene blue, ive been doing weekly water changes but the water still has a blue tinge to it, will this effect the results when i test the water?

pop a carbon sponge in your filter, that should sort it.

Definatley worth getting a carbon sponge in there because methylene blue can have really bad effects on your filter bacteria. :good:

Can carbon filters be re-used? You know, rinsed out after use and then kept in the box they came in for using another time?

OK, ill go and get a carbon sponge tommorow :good:

Can i test the water today or will i have to wait until ive ran the carbon sponge for a while?

Using a carbon sponge will get the water better but Methalyne blue will stain your silicon in your tank to be prepared to look at light blue silicone on the edges of your tank this is why i wont use the stuff in my normal tank i only use methalyne blue in my quarintine tank.
