Yesterday was quite an adventure around here. I got up early and went out to a friends parents' house to take down her tank she had out there. She wanted to move all of her fish to her 150 at her house to save her the trouble of traveling to maintain the 100 gallon. So, guess who stepped up and took the 100 off of her hands? ^_^

After all of that, I was finally home with the tank and then it got really fun. The midas was freaking out when I tried to take him out of his fifty. He kept splashing everywhere , the water was dripping from the top of my walls and running down  He'd thrash around- then get still. I finally coaxed him into the pillowcase by gently patting his sides with my hand and then I kept him in it for a minute. I noticed how still and calm he was in the bag and I thought he was dead for sure. Even when I pulled the pillowcase out of the tank and moved it to the temporary tub there was no reaction from him and I was heartbroken. I thought he had a heartattack :( I dumped him out in a panic and phew,he was fine. Now, how to get him back out of the tub?

Anyway, we did it :flex: Here is "The Midas" in his debute big tank ^_^

He was getting so,so big in that 50. His head and tail literally touched the front and back of the tank when he was looking directly out. It was quite pathetic. I couldn't wait to get him a new tank :look: It's not beautiful by any means, but he likes it as long as he has his pot.

I wish my friends fish grew out of there tanks so I can take them. I always wanted a chichild the electric blue ones seem to be very nice. But I dont have the space so once my brother moves out Im changing his room into a fish room. Nice looking fish though. I think there called frontosas? Im not sure well good luck on stocking it up. Or are you just going to leave him by himself? I like the bump on his head, makes him look fancy.

He's too aggressive to be with anyone else.
I had to laugh out loud about the electric blues being nice, they're such butthead fish. The friend I mentioned above had a pair in her tank, they used to be mine but I hated them so she took 'em last year or so. Apparently the male has only become buttheadier so she took him and the female to the lfs yesterday.

I keep a tank of frontosa, which I love. I highly recommend them as long as proper housing is supplied.

Congrats on the new tank! Your midas looks great!

BTW - what are you going to stock in the vacant 50?

That juvie red devil that I have. I was hoping she and the midas could live together, but let's say that's not going to work and leave it at that :look: (I tried)

He's so happy in it  He thinks he's Babe, Pig in the City.

By the way,cc, it's always good to see YOU around

Awww, these are the best pics I've seen of him I think, he's such a charmer!! He has a cute little red spot on his nose like my Marie

aww, he's so awesome
Congrats to both of you :)

It's not, it's a midas. And a cutey

Indeed ^_^
But, I contemplated on a fh before I bought my newer red devil, but after seeing her I knew she was meant to be with me...just not with the midas evidently :look:

Now that his water has cleared..

I think I'm going to leave it backless, it seems to open his space more and he likes peeking in the hall. I *did* want to put some driftwood/stumps...but he already seems like a whole lotta fish and he uses every bit of space... -_- The minute I put him in I thought "Oh great, this ones not big enough for him either!"
I need new filters now :zz It's always somethin'

I meant to say electric blue hap. I'm not sure if those are the ones I want but if they were they would have to have black stripes on them. I went to the pet store the other day and found lots and lots of baby chichilds and found these tiny ones that were the best in the world!!!! I want them all.Muhahahahaha. I wish I had the tank though. I hear petco has a 10% off on selected tanks. ;)

Beautiful! Wish I had the room for such a large tank!

Maybe you should just convert one wall of your fishroom into a see-thru fish tank Kelly...

heh heh, that would be awesome B)
Now if I can just get over this obsession I seem to have with huge fish that require much space- and refuse to get along with anybody.
They're just like overgrown bettas ^_^

Arrowhead, I meant blue haps, too. Maybe it was just the one I had that was such an ass.
