I am treating a betta with Melafix for fin rot. My water is soft and slightly acidic anyway, KH is 1 and pH is about 6.8 from the tap and about 6.6 in the tanks. The tank I am treating with Melafix is down around 6.0 and I'm afraid that is too low for the betta. I don't want to create more stress and cause the fin rot to worsen instead of get better.

Their website says that it "Will not adversely affect the biological filter, alter the pH, or discolor water"

If you are worried, you could add a few seashells to compensate
