If you use Melafix, and either can't get Tea tree oil or don't want to make your own, a good tip is buying the Pond Melafix instead of aquarium melafix. Pond Melafix is also called Professional Strength melafix. They are exactly the same things, but Pond melafix is 5 times stronger, but only slightly more expensive. It has the correct dosing instructions on the back for either pond or aquarium, so you'll just find you'll use 5ml instead of 25ml etc etc.

At www.aquatics-online.co.uk

Aquarium Melafix 480ml - treats 960 US gallons - costs £9.49
Pond Melafix 480ml - treats 4,800 US Gallons - costs £13.99

Definitely worth getting if you're a melafix fan!

same goes for bettafix.

bettafix is basicaly 5 times les concentrated than melafix.

so insted of 5ml of bettafix, i use 1 ml of melafix

it comes out alot cheaper!
I didn't know there was such a thing as pond melafix though. I'll check that out.

I have found Melafix on sale though, 2.99$ CDN for the 4oz bottles. I bought 4 of them and gave 1 to my girlfriend, that's like a quarter of the regular price :)
