Meet Rocket...

So as you may know I recently entered the world of Bettas with a fish dubbed Giles. Unfortunately he got poorly and died after a very short time.

So after much scrubbing and sterilising and replacing the plants and whatnot I went down to my lfs a few days ago and saw this guy, the manager agreed to keep him for me until today. Today I went and brought him home.

In the shop he looked vibrant blue. Under my lighting he definitely has some elements of red in there too. He seems very active and is currently checking out his new home and playing in what little current there is from the spraybar, hehe.

Anyways, I thought you might like to meet Rocket

When I saw him in the LFS he was vibrant blue... the red showed up under the lighting in my tank. He's patrolling his new home I think... haven't seen him actually stop for more than a few seconds yet, hehe.

So he's settled in some and isn't hanging at the back of the tank all the time now, nor patrolling quite so vigorously




I think this picture is a lot better. Haven't seen him flare yet, thought I'd leave him to get comfortable in his new home. The red doesn't show up in all lighting he goes from almost pale blue to royal purple to royal blue with red highlights depending... I'll try and get some more pics once I recharge my camera.


I know... I'm obsessed !
