This is Little Bit. She was one of the Bettas that convinced me to spend $1600 on Camera equipment to capture her beauty. Too bad I have to resize their pictures so much to fit on the site but I understand why that is needed.

Most of the pictures I have posted are with the Bettas placed in a little hanging cup so I don't have to wait forever to get a good closeup of them. I say this because for me, my biggest problem is getting a good shot of them in the large tanks I keep them in as they never seem to cooperate with the camera.

I prefer it through the glass tank because glass provides a much clearer/cleaner view than the plastic hanging cups I usually use.

My advice would be to get a small square clean glass container to move the fish into temporaritly for the close up pictures. You can't go with any round container as that would distort the image. Otherwise, just put your camera on a tripod and leave it in front of the tank for about 30 minutes until they ignore it. Then wait for a good pose from the Betta to shoot.

Best thing about a digital camera is you can shoot pictures constantly and not be wasting any film. I shoot dozens of pictures just to keep one good shot.

Be aware if your tank lid lamp is giving glare to the camera. If that's the case, shut the lid lamp off and use an external lamp pointed down on the tank but at an angle that won't give the camera lens a reflection. Good luck. I know it takes a lot of patience.

She's gorgeous! If you go to photobucket.com and upload the full photo on there, the site will automatically resize the photo on the forum page but gives us the option to see it in all its glory :)

WOW....she's gorgeous! And I guess your camera investment was worth it. :)

I use my camcorder which takes stills, turn off the flash and turn on the hood light. Its an acrylic aquarium so I dont get the clarity I would like but its still better than my regular digital camera.
