Well, nobody knows, but Tariq, my veiltail that I have had for a few months now is sick. The ends of all his fins have gotten pinched down with either fungus or finrot (I think it is finrot though). Like little itty bitty white specs that you cant see unless you get really close and he stays still areon all his fins, especially the tail.

So I went out and got bettafix.

I know it has only been a few days, but shouldn't I have seen at least a bit of improvement?? Should I just clip the ends of his tail off? I really like this guy, but I do not plan on spending 50 dollars on medication, so I need a pretty inexpensive alternative... What should I do?

btw - he is in a 1 gallon bowl with pebbles.

frustrating as it may be the idea of cutting off the edges of his fins will not solve the problem, the damage is already done to his fannage if its finrot, so cutting them would make things the same but just on a shorter tail.
clean water is the key, 100% water changes every day, remembering to acclimatize him every time very slowly since he's not too well, really if its US gallons yer talking about which makes it 3.8 litres this is too small to keep him in, he needs more room to exercise, exercise leads to a healthier fish. carry on with the bettafix as some fish take their time to get better from meds, if hes not showing any more improvement in 3 days time then switch meds and only after a 100% water change and a couple of days break or simply try pimafix with the bettafix as the 2 together will treat good as well since bettafix is a diluted version of melafix.
