I thought that I read something that said mixing the medicine in water then using so much a day wasn't a good thing as the medicine lost it's potency once it was mixed with water. Is that true?

It says for melafix 10 drops per gallon. I've been told one drop per gallon. Which is correct, as this is a big difference?
