Meds Filtering Out Of Water

Water changes and carbon are the only 2 ways I know of to remove them (I guess there is other filter media besides carbon that would work too). Some meds say to add crbon to remove them while others don't mention it and it is probably fine to just leave the meds until they are pretty much diluted over time by regular water changes. Any med that says it will harm your bacteria colony though you will want to get out as soon as treatment is over so you bacteria can start rebuilding. I would imagine fresh carbon would have the meds filtered out in a day or so.

Atcually many meds will be absorbed by the tank as well. All I had in one tank was a homeade sponge filter with gravel in it. I used methylene blue to turn it a dark blue, the water was crystal clear 3 days later. It was apparently absorbed by the gravel, filter floss, and tubing in the tiny sponge filter.
