Meds And Plecos

hi just a few general things is melafix ok in a tank with plecos which meds are and are not safe?

I always hesetate to treat becaise of them so I thought it might be good to have a topic.

most medications are fine on plecos but you must check the directions on every pack. Some will suggest using half dose for scaleless fishes like catfish and loaches. other medications can be used at full strength.

Never use Trichlorphon (Dipterex, Masoten) on catfish. It will kill them. It also doesn't work very well these days and is a waste of money.
