Media

What Filter media dose everyone use in their external filter?
At the moment mine has Ceramic Bio Rings, Bio Balls and x3 Filter foams. I was wandering if anyone knows if these Media are worth getting

Or is there any other Media worth buying about

I don't know about that media, but i use the same as you've got now works fine for me

In my Fluval 305 I have.....

Large coarse pads of foam and in the baskets I have fine foam, ceramic tubes and ceramic nuggets

Consistently perfect water stats

I have my canister like this:

Water out ============>

Filter floss
^
Ceramic rings
^
Fine sponge
^
Coarse sponge
^
Prefilter ceramic
^
<=========== Water in

Prefilter traps large particles and breaks the flow up of the water. Sponges take out medium and small particles. Ceramic host bacteria. Floss takes out any tiny tiny particles.

Also always perfect stats.

I guess Maifan Stones and Coral Sands are just something for them to make money out of people and not needed in the filter then
