hi,

in my fluval 305 to have the below


bottom basket - ceramic noodles
middle basket - plastic bio balls
top basket - few noodles / bio balls then sponge on the top to fill the basket
then theres the 2 white sponges down the middle (these where in it when i got it) everything else is from my old cycled filter.

i have read that people have wool in there filters - should I have some in mine ? is it 100% nessicary with everything else I have in there

Wool can be useful for catching little bits that are floating around in your water, but it's not 100% necessary.
