I have been trying to feed my tetras mosquito larvae everyday but we have been having heavy rain that washed out where I had most of my larvae but the last few days it was full of them again so my tetra will eat well tonight. My two plastic bins I was also using only had a few each day. I give them a little fish food before the larvae go in.

I have noticed that my tank seems to stay a little cleaner with live food compared to flake. They really do not leave any larvae behind.

Just a side question, have you noticed the colours changing? I read somewhere that the colours really pop when they have natural food.

Even if it doesn't I'm sure they much prefer the larvae over the flake!

That's my dream some day: have a tetra-only tank. Looks beautiful

I have noticed that my older neon tetra that have been eating live larvae seem to have a brighter blue and red color. The new younger tetras which have not been eating as long are not as colorful but that could be also stress of being in a new tank.
