When ever I am researching anything aquatic and Google finds a forum topic MCAFEE lists as a warning - big red cross next to the forum site name, which when you hover over it says the site may be malicious!

Does anyone else get this?

This site has never caused my pc any issues and can't think why it would.

Occasionally this happens when an image or link in a post points somewhere bad. We had it once on there and it turned out to be an image. We edited the post to remove the image and the alert went away.

If it's this forum then just let us know the link, if it's some other forum let them know.

I have seen McAfee do this on a lot of forums. It's as though McAfee has determined certain software to be a risk to users because of lax security protocols. I do not see how this can be since most forum software, including the open source variety, has some very effective tools available to combat hacking and spammers which are the primary issues before encountered. I do not use McAfee. I use a software called AVG and its online monitor has never flagged any forum I visit as being a threat.

Edit: tcamos is correct, McAfee can issue a warning if a link within a particular, other-wise safe, site points to a location that has been deemed a threat.

tcamos it is on every search that I do where this forum comes up ie if I put in Mopani wood half way down first page link to here has warning, even just typing in fish forums in google this is the first site that comes up but has red cross next to it and warning.

Could the site not contact MCAFEE? might put people off

dose mcafee have a particular level of security I.E if you have it on a high level it may well do this, based on this is a forum and not its actual content, also is there a safe list? where you can add this to a safe list so it is deemed as safe in the future? i am unsure on why mcafee would try to say this site is unsafe, strange i know but tbh i don't think mcafee will listen to a forum like us if we did speak to them
