Mbuna Tank

I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it. I bought a 90 gallon today. I got it second hand for a good price with all the accessories. Unfortuneately the filter is under-powered, they had a fluval 204 for it. I've already done some dealing with a LFS for a 404 to add to it. Should be enough right? The 204 does 180 GPH and the 404 does 340 GPH. With all the rock I'm gonna put in it there'll probably be only 50 gallons of water. I'm gonna borrow a truck and pick it up tomorrow. Woo Hoo!

It comes with fish too. 4 tinfoil barbs, 1 BGK, 1 pleco and some giant danios. I'm going to trade them in. The LFS is going to give me a pitance for credit. Such a rip off. They'll give me $20 and probably sell each fish for that much. What's a BGK worth anyways? More than $20, that's for sure.

Oh well, can't do much about it I guess.

Hopefully you all will help me along when it comes to the stupid setup and stocking questions I'm gonna ask.

Sorry, I thought that was a common term for Black Ghost Knife. They really are a quite nice fish, I would like to keep it but it's not in the plan. I'm not sure about tank size requirements for them anyway. The small ones are selling at about $35 at one of the LFS, hence my irritation at the $20 (credit, not cash) offer for all the fish. Cheap buggers. If they didn't have the best fish selection in town....

aahhhh Ghosts
well they arent the nicest fish, meaning they are night time killers, one day after he's grown quit a bit and you've bought a bunch of beauties, you wake up to each one of them savagely eaten.
The ghost did it!!!!
I've known many folks that have had this happen to them, also they get HUGE.
