Most Mbuna are omnivorous so a balanced diet is preferable and at least an element of Spirinula is advisable. They'll pretty much eat anything you give them (including gravy and roast spuds ), not sure if brine shrimp would be good for them though... freddyk, i'm sure will answer that one.

will wait to see on the brine shrimp then before I let them gorge on it!!

brine shrimp occasionally is fine.

just stay away from blood worms and the likes and any other meaty foods.

i feed all my mbuna on a diet of mostly veg ,algae some veggie flakes, spirulina and brine shrimp

As an occasional supplement it's fine, and Labidochromis can handle it regularly. I wouldn't take the chance with any Labeotropheus though.
