Just as I thought everything wasn't going to work, it seems I may just have a pair. My favorite ones! :D Anyways I thought the Black one was female from the start, you can see the white pearl typer organ in and around the pelvic fin area. Anyways I still want Discus. My mom says 55. I wanted to see if I could push my luck a little and get something maybe 5 or 10 gallons larger, but I'm not sure if she will let me, we will see. Anyways would a 55 still be okay for the fish? Stocking would possibly be

2 Angelfish
4 Discus or 5?
6 Cory

I will most likely have 90 gallons of filtration on the 55, although I will make something on the filter outlets to help with less current. I will also do my regular maintenance (weekly 25% water changes), it will be bare-bottom with one cave for the corys, some driftwood and some plants in pots with fluorite and a pea sized gravel.

Really, my main problem here is that know I have to carry over two, instead of one. Of course 5 is recommended but I have heard people who have 4 and say that the tank still runs pretty smoothly, what do you think?

Discus requires 40 liters each, aint too sure how many gallons that is! Also, personally I wouldnt keep angles with Discus. Angels tend to carry diseases and wouldnt chance it myself! Wouldnt chance anything if it harmed my Disucs

Yeah it's actually an internal parasite called Capillaria, it's actually pretty much nonsense when it comes down to all Angels carrying it. I can also easily be prevented with feeding them Garlic with every frozen meal. Also, 40 liters is 10 gallons which is actually correct, but i'm not sure if aggression would be better with 4 (4 makes Discus more aggressive) or 5 (aggression is shared easier thus making it more peaceful) because stocking with 5 would be more crowded... anyways I still can't really tell if they actually are forming a pair so i'll wait for a bit...

Nah anglefish are gentically similar to Discus IMO. They live in the wild together, And in tanks I think they would be fine. But when I do discus, Normally I do a discus species tank. I don't like the idea of any fish carrying a disease into my tank.

i think it would work.

you need to set up the tank cycle it and just put your corys in it. wait untill you get your discus add your discus and after 2-3 weeks add you angels. this will give the discus the advantge. i reckon it will work but the discus may get bullied if this happens you need to remove the angels straight away. Also, try feed at either end of the tank. like 1 end for the discus 1 end for the angels.
