Hi, i have 2 bleheri and i know they dont like many water changes, i have been using dechlorinated tap water that i heat up to 19c with a heater and let the water stand for a few days before a water change,is this a good thing to do or a waste of time, i only do about a quarter of the tank about every 3 weeks.
cheers

Its what you feel comfortable doing, i used to keep old milk cartons, filled with water and dechlorinated, kept on top of the fridge which kept water to the same temp as the tank, sometimes one did not always remember to fill the cartons, so did a mix of warm and cold, dechlorinated then added straight into the tank, :good:
Never any harm came from this with any of my fish, including the Snakeheads

Thanks for that, the subsrate gets dirty so it needs a hoover every so often so that means a water change, i try to keep to a minimum though, snakeheads seem happy enough with this, i just want to keep them as healthy as possible.

That's exactly where I keep several gallons of water, ready to go. Our water is notoriously bad, so I like to treat it then let it sit for at least 24 hours before I use it. I too like the fact that the heat on top of the fridge keeps it at the proper temperature.
