I was just thinking today about how much I love my 10 and 29 gallon community tanks. I'm having some algae problems in my 80 gallon lately, but I never have any problems in my 10 and 29 gallon. They're both over 6 months old and stable as can be. No algae, healthy fish, perfect water quality all the time... ah yes. Once all your tanks are matured, that's when you really get around to enjoying the relaxing part of the hobby -- just admiring your fish and the habitat you've created for them.

Soooo... how many of you have mature tanks, and how many are still struggling (like I am with the 80g) to get all the kinks worked out? :fun:

how old is your 80 gallon in comparison?

My tank was set up in March. I reckon I'll be ironing out the kinks for ages yet :)

It is nice to have a mature tank running. My 29 gal has been running for 6 months now. It's nice to get over all the cycling issues and algae blooms. I haven't had any problems for a while now. The only thing for me is that I have to move my tank to another room, so I'm hoping I don't start a mini cycle.

My current most mature tank is 3 years old and runs like a nicely oiled engine - well so to speak anyway :)
Over the past 15 years I've moved countries a fair bit and sometimes distances in the UK too great too feasibly move a tank, so it's lovely to have a nice settled tank again !

my 25g also it been 4-5 monthes now. And fish r very healthy inside.

my 10 gallon has been up 4 2 years and its very self sefishent.

One of my 10Gs was setup in Augest, then my second one in september. My 5G was ste up in december.
I never really had a problem while they were cycling. Are you doing a fish or fishless cycle? I've never tried a fishless cycle, but I've NEVER had a problem with fish cycling.

A couple of months old... I used old filter media in it when I set it up so it only took about a week to cycle, but it still isn't 100% perfect (as evidenced by the algae)
I can't wait until it's as stable as my 10 gallon, but my 10 gallon is like 3 or 4 years old :p

I have a solid, mature 55 gallon. Water quality never changes(except for nitrates lol) and fish are happy.

Hey Synirr: Cool, another Texan. Do you have to run the AC all day? Lol :/

Yes. :|
If it were up to me it would be set on 80 degrees, but I still live with my parents who like the temp to be 75. Can't wait until I have a house of my own.. none of my fish would need heaters :p
