So atm my 400L with Eheim 2075 is cycling, been going now 3+ wks. Ammnia comes down from 5ppm in roughly 24-36hrs if not sooner but nitrites are still > 5ppm.

This w/end I'm back to my parents house which has my old but still active Reckord 70 and I'll be cleaning it out. It makes sense to replace a sponge and transport it back to my new house, then squeeze the wet contents into my Eheim to speed things up a bit.

Questions:

1. Which is going to be best to take - the fine or coarse filter do you reckon?
2. Any particular way of transporting it? Will likely be 3-4 hrs before I get it home.

I can't bring both coarse and fine because there are still fish living in it but I figure a squeeze of one is about as good as I can get give my LFS doesn't supply mature media at all :(

Cheers.

Either would be fine, if you can dont just squeeze it over the eheim media, actually put the whole sponge in. To transport it, just put it in a bag/tub with some of the tank water in, that should be fine for a few hours :good:
