Mature Filter Floss Available For Collection

I will be removing some mature floss from my external in the next few days,so if anyone lives near Keynsham Bristol and wants it to kickstart a cycle,you're more than welcome to it.

I will be needing some next weekend, but can't get to Bristol, would you be able to post it? I am happy to pay postage costs.

Only snag is I am away Monday to Friday this week, how long would the bacteria survive without ammonia? If you posted it say Wednesday would it still be viable on Saturday?

I have heard of people sending media in a plastic bag with water, like when sending live fish by post, heavy but might that keep it viable?

Possibly mate, i am unsure tbh, but 3 days would be pushing it without a source of ammonia for it to be fed i reckon. Would non of your LFS be able to help you out?

same here, bacteria in a bottle is useless, thats why they sell it to you and then tell you to start from scratch when it doesnt work

I know they are just trying to make some money, but that stuff should be investigated by trading standards!

Looks like I might be able to get a bit of media off some people that are closer, but dam canister is so big I know it could take more! lol
