i have two females and a male swordtail. they are all different kinds and colors of swordtails. will they still mate or do they have to be the same color and kind?

It doesn't matter what color they are. They are still the same species, just different variations of coloring and finnage.

You can end up with some very interesting colour combinations this way. I have a couple of young pink platies with a bright orange dorsal fin- completely tacky, but they're still cute!
