Hi all,
I'm looking for a used tank and I'm seeing a lot marine kit as well. I'm guessing that I can clean the tanks down well using clean / fresh water twice and leave to dry / visually check for graining etc - but not sure thats 100% correct ?
As they are s/h a lot come with external filters and pipework - is that a similar care of rinsing through with fresh water / running the filters in the cleaning water setup for a while to cleanse them ?
I've currently got an external on my 125L, aps 1000l/h model which I can shift over if its safer / superior to whatever comes bundled.
I'm not too worried about replacing hoses if I need too - just didn't want to make a noddy mistake and waste my fish whilst trying to give them a larger home !
Also seeing a lot of powerheads / skimmers. I take it I don't need a skimmer at all on tropical since it makes no real difference, but any advice on a low powered powerhead / wavemaker in a planted tank c200l to promote plant growth / general water quality ? I'll be going with a pair of air stones but I'm not sure how a 1000l/h (and lets face it, APS aren't really that high) will really airate / move a 200l tank.
Thanks for any / all advice !
Matt
