hi every1

i have an emperor angel in an aquarium for 3 weeks and has done well till now he has got white spot and gave him a fresh water dip what would couse the white spot and all the water is testing out great

Yea!... I know marine ich, has a specific name... when I saw your topic, I was wondering....Anyone know??... I also know, I'll be awake tonight until I find this name???/... Anyone??

Well, it depends, there are a couple different parasitic variants of marine whitespot. Perhaps the name you're thinking of is Oodinium or Amyloodinium? Either way treatment is the same: QT with EITHER hyposalinity 1.009sg OR copper 0.20-0.30ppm. If the fish is large (like an angelfish) and it's only a few spots you can TRY heavy feedings and a freshwater dip and the fish may be able to fight it off itself. Not always effective though...
