Maybe I'm just crazy, but I'm seriously thinking of putting together a 75g with some Tahitian Moon sand (it's coming down in price), oscars and moss balls (marimos).
I thought if the oscars don't eat them, they might play and enjoy them. I was curious if anyone has any experience with marimos and cichlids? My lfs said oscars will not typically eat algae and didn't think they'd touch the balls. If the osccars play with them, do they fall apart? I've heard other fish like loaches, moving them around. Before I spend a lot on the marimos, I was hoping someone has some real life story to share.
Also, would the sand just stick to the balls? I've read when they roll, they loose debris... but again I'd appreciate any feedback from someone who may have actually tried this.
