Marimo Ball Carpet

What do you think of breaking apart a marimo ball and making a carpet out of it? Does anyone know of any pictures of it? Is it hard to make this happen?

I'm thinking of doing the exact same thing.


The ball is slowly coming apart anyway, so I will flatten it out and tie it with cotton thread to a piece of slate or something similar.


I don't see it being difficult really

Only thing i would say is buy plenty oof them as they are very slow growing.

used 3 balls to get this effect
they go a long way if you rip them into tiny pieces

The cheaper way would be to dose nutrients. not dose CO2. remove all plants. Add bogwood. Put as much light on as possible for 24 hours a day.

1 month later the bogwood will be covered with it and it won't have cost you any money. It is just clado algae after all!!!!
