A LFS near me is selling marble crayfish - found out as he sold one to a friend of mine telling him it was a blue lobster (crayfish),

I went to same store and asked the owner what they were and he told me marble crayfish, when I pointed out they were illegal to sell he told me I didn't know what I was talking about and he had sold hundreds!

I am sure they are illegal and have read on here they are, told my friend and he is not too bothered - even when i pointed out he could soon have hundreds of babies (don't think he believed me)

Should I be reporting them? up until now they have seemed to be reputable

an invasive species currently wiping out our indigenous crays. Completely illegal to trade them due to this. Please report them!

try calling DEFRA and seeing how you go about reporting them....

I have emailed DEFRA reporting this LFS - lets hope they take some action, I will keep checking to see if they are for sale and keep reporing as long as they are.

Yeah, well done.

They have caused terrible problems for our native crays :-(

When I had an American signal, years ago, I made sure not even his old water got into the drains, it all went on the garden so I didn't risk their nasty fungus getting anywhere near our rivers.

Obviously not everyone was as careful as I was :(
