how do i tell if my mollie is a male or female?

Males have a pointed anal fin and females have a fan-like anal fin. This is the same for guppies, platies, and most other (if not all) livebearers. Sorry, I don't have pics off hand, but there should be some if you search on here.

You won't be able to tell unless the fish are old enough. Two months should be enough time to tell usually, but if there is a larger male, other males will be slower to develop. You should be able to tell before they get a chance to impregnate everything in the tank.
