Male Or Female Guppie?

What pet store did you purchase them from? I know some can be fairly incompetent...

Dobbies, Nuneaton (Mancetter Road) ... it's my local pet store, also have A5 Aquatics a little further down aswell, thats where I will be going for my next lot of fish I think the other half has her eyes on some mollys there lol.

I went to one of the big chain pet stores for my first fish- mistake. They do not give good advice.

You could tell from the 1st video.
I've only kepet these fish for over 20 years and would stake my life on it if i had too.

i'm agreeing with Helter here, have kept guppies for 10 years or so now, know a male when i see one

Sorry to bring this back up...

But still 2 of the 3 guppys (not inc the big orange one in vid) still keep raising their top fin and going for the underneath of the big orange one. (2 of them do it all the time, the other never bothers)

Just been looking under the big orange one, and it's got a brown/red ish spot on the rear underneath and I don't know if it was there befor or not lol. Non of the others have it... that I can see of anyway.

And inside it's belly is black, non of the others have this lol, so big to the others aswell


I just duno what to think lol...





I could try get another vid, but it's mobile style so it's the best! I'll try to get my other halfs camera tomorrow.

It's not going to change anything though their all males, if you want them to stop get some females!!!

The Orange one is a male . they are all males

Hello all,

Just joined the community so I'd like to put in my 2 cents. The orange is definitely male. You can see the gonopodium at the end of the clip. Plus, female blond/red guppies do not have real red colouring on their bodies. As for why the blue male is going after the orange male.... I find guppies are the randiest fish of all. My blue ribbon guppy tries to mate with EVERYTHING in the tank... bleeding heart tetra, neon, other male guppies... you name it. They're not picky at all. As long as the body of the persuid fish is fat and pregnant looking, the male guppy will go for it.
