Male Molly

hi my mail sailfin molly seems to becoming very aggressive to the females in the tank. is this normal?

also the female has stopped breeding were in the past she has breed all year round, i di loose one of the males but is it that she does not like the male in the tank? is it because he is bigger than her? bully?

any advice would be great

I wish I could help but a male picking on a fertile female is something I have never seen. I have seen plenty of females getting more attention than they wanted and have seen several females over the years who did not tolerate others of their own kind. This is a new combination for aggression for me.

When I had a few Molly's, my male would not let the female eat... how many fish are in the tank & how big is the tank?

its as if he is trying to make her give birth to then breed again?

and the tank is 4ft by 18 by 18

and there about 15 fish in there all small livebeares at the moment
