So I've read up that male kribs were fairly ideal community tank fish with other semi Agressives.

Yesterday, I put him in, and he decided to squable around and show that he was boss. First he hit up the false flying fox, whom vicously squabbled back, but lost out and ran to the cave.

Then the bugger tried to hit up on the elephant nose  man, two headbutts and he learned his place. So I toss in an algea waffer, and later it seems the FFF wouldn't tolerate the krib being around it. and when it zoomed and made the krib back off fast, the elephant nose soomed and headbutted it.

Well, i think I found the solution. I somewhat accidentally overfed live brine shrimp into the tank. I didn;t think so many would fit. Luckily, it looks like the brunt of it went to my senegal, krib, and FFF. and thankfully, my peacock eel that hadn't been eating ate at least 3! :hyper:

And right now even the flying fox and krib can stand each other at one inch distances, but I'm guessing that's due to their full full bellies making them lazy. If agression starts back up, what can I do? :/

return him. he's only going to become more aggressive as he gets older and more sex horomones kick in.

besides, don't you think that little 38g is getting kind of full? you know, with the senegal, elephant nose, three peacock eels, flying fox, and whatever other fish you've recently added without updating your profile? i think that you should seriously consider saving up for a 75g and then start buying more fish. you'd love having all that space available and it'd be so much easier to take care of. you know, once a week water changes instead of dailies, more water volume in case of a filter crash, that sort of thing.

Pica - actually, there's been some sorting, and the syno. featherfin is in a LFS.

the profile IS updated. thank you.

Could it not be that he was checking out a pecking order or something? It may just be because they are all super stuffed right now, but everything is calm. and no injury has occured yet. I'm thinking three days and careful watching will be needed before comming to a decision. and, it being thanksgiving break, I have that time

That seems perfectly normal to me. As long as the fighting doesnt continue. Most cichlids, when first introduced, will try to rough up the other fish at first. Once they establish their territory, it will be fine. If he decides the WHOLE tank is his territory, then you will have a problem ;)

Indeed things HAVE calmed down. The elephant nose lets the krib swim under him now, and the flying fox even hangs with him. Thanks for the support space :D

Well, you still have to watch him. One day he may decide that the whole tank belongs to him.

yes, I'll keep watching over. feeding time is the most peaceful time. He thinks he rules a large "bush" in my tank though  it's his castle and he thinks he's king!
