Male Guppy Trying With Female Molly

The last few days i've seen my male guppy trying to mate with my female molly. Has anyone else had a problem with this. It's kinda funny to watch since she is much bigger then him. But i'm wondering if he is confused since i never see him bother my female guppy but she is also pregnant. Unfortantly my other female guppy died. Do i need to get him another female so he will leave the molly alone?

Male Livebearers have huge sex drives, so it's not surprising he's trying to mate with everything! It's actually possible for them to hybridise, however the chances of there actually being fry and them surviving are very slim. What is your current ratio with the Guppies?

Right now it's one male and one female. Since my other female died last week. I also have 4 baby guppy fry. Sounds like this is a good excusse to convince my hubby i need more fish. LOL

it is not very slim becuase that happened to me! I watched my male guppy mate and then i had a guppy molly mix!

IT was cool!

But it died after about 7 or 8 months!
