Hello. My first batch of fry are now about 8 months old, and they are really beautiful. Since then, I have had many more, but I have a question about male guppies.

Do some male guppies lack a nice long tail, or does it develop later? The males are striking, with their colors well-developed, but their tails look a lot more like the females' tails. Is this normal, and will it change?

Thank you, my curiosity is killing me.

Yes male guppys tail sometimes grow very slow.
I have 2 male guppys for 2 years and thier tails are very long.
I think thier tails never stop growing.
It's just takes a long time.

yup continuous development i think cause my fancy tail males got fin rot and destroyed most of theirs i thought they would die but to my amazement 2 months later they are better than ever more colour and bigger

as to do some get bigger tails than others remember the different strain of guppies, some might have had a fancy tail strain in with them and others havent so thus a different tail

or you have all female guppy's and there all pregnant.lol
i'm still waiting for my fry to show there colors.
