Hello. I have a situation where my single female swordtail is being constantly pestered by one of my three male guppies. I have observed i for some days thinking it might pass but he continues to follow her everywhere without a break. It's quite distressing to watch. Any advice please.

ummm... i cant help you with that, but i think that you had a wrong choice of words by saying that in your title, so please edit that because of your language. this is a family forum, and there are many young members on here, including me. may i suggest that you just take him back to the fish store that he came from because of his aggression towards your female swordtail

Thank you - edit done. I realise that UK and USA words can have different connotations - wouldn't dream of writing words which could be bad for children - retired head teacher!

I had a similar problem with my 4 guppy boys chasing my female platy. They had her cornered several times. The only answer was to get them some girls of their own. They have one each which isn't ideal but it's stopped them stressing the platy and she's gone on to have several babies since (with the male platy that's in there not the guppys  )

You should have a higher ratio of female to male to spread their attention

And guppies I assume? Otherwise this thread is a little pointless! lol

You should really think about rehoming your zebra danios, your tank isnt really big enough for them. They may only be small but need at least a 4ft tank to zoom up and down.

Thanks, Yes - and three male guppies. You get told such conflicting stuff. I was assured that Danios would be fine for this tank. What fish are really suited to my 64 litre tank. I know that swordtails aren't but again I was wrongly advised at first. I find it really confusing and don't want to cause any fish stress or worse.
