I have a 29 gallon community tank. This question only regards the guppies in the tank.
I have 3 adult males, and 5 fry which are basically adults now (I only call them fry because they were born in my tank).
I Misjudged their genders. I was under the impression all the fry were females so I'd have a 3:5 male to female ratio.
It turns out that only 3 are female, so i'm rocking a 5:3 male to female ratio. I know the females will become stressed over time and possibly develop sicknesses.
I have a good amount of plants, hiding spots/caves, and other fish in my tank so will this help to curb aggression and chasing?
I don't feel comfortable getting more than 2 more females because my tank is stocked to the brim if not slightly overstocked.
Would It be better to get a 5:5 male to female ratio or is that no better than the 5:3 and will the fish be terribly overstressed in either scenario?
