Male:female Ratio In A Spawn?

I've got it into my head that you end up with FAR less males than females - am I making it up? what's the general ratio?

well i googled it and came up with a range from 45-65% male per spawn. another site says 35-60%.

PH plays a part in this. the higher the PH the more females, the lower the PH the more males you get. was told this by a thai breeder and i have tested it and seems to be true. a PH of 7 seem to give a even mix from what i have tried.
