Great Shot Gav! :hyper:

What size is he?? What size will he get to?

I have a male Estherae (Red). He's about 2.5 inches now and full of character.

Hope he grows up to look as cool as yours :D .

He's not mine unfortunately :/

got the sig banner off littlefishie  .

I actually got all of my Africans from Oasis Aquariums in Salford, Manchester.

Ferris, from here of TFF, referred me as thats where he always goes. Took a trip there and it really is superb. Great selection and all the tanks were superbly maintained and healthy looking.

There are a couple of places nearer though where I know they sell Africans....

Limestar Tropicals in Tarvin (They have a tank of adult "mixed" mbuna but also two or three tanks with juvies in that are labelled as to what's in there)

Wyevale Garden Centre in Winsford (Three tanks just labelled "mixed". Decent selection though if you can decipher your mbuna from looks alone).

I believe there is also a garden centre in Wrexham that does a decent selection too (can't think of the name though sorry and haven't visited. Someone on here referred the place but (again) I can't think who it was!)

BTW..where did you get all of yours from?

the majority of my fish are wild so the nearest place i go is african aquatics in crewe. www.africanaquatic.com. really cheap. theres a place called pennington aquatics in leigh , lancs that do wild aswell but i havn't ventured up there yet. theres no where really around here that does decent mbuna, the one your thinking of is probably waterways garden centre which is probably the best around here. i havn't tried oasis so i might pop in next time i'm near there.

That is one stunning fish and a great pic.

Steve - Looks like your after commision from Oasis now aswell!

Sunds expensive all wild fishes, and njasse gets catfish and a true biotope never seen them around here.

But why all wilds? Since you do not have breeding groups (in sig), considering they are known to be generally less colorful and more delicate just for fun, I supose it could be easier to get than f1's if you hooked up...

lovely tank

the reason there all wilds is simply that african aquatics is the nearest place that does mbuna worth getting. all the fish around me are just mixed tanks full of hybrids. i just stumbled across them one day and saw these fish and had to have them. but yes i think if i get a second tank i'll get f1. but i must say that i enjoy studying the behaviour of these wild fish!!! i think you learn a bit more about this species from these guys.
