I placed a healthy male betta in a crowded five gallon tank. I'll move most of the other fish in due course, so the crowding won't be a problem for long.

Problems:
The current is fast, so his food gets washed away before he can eat it. This means that he eats a few flakes of tropical fish food. Is this ok, or should I dump a bit more food in and hope he gets it (with daily partial water changes and gravel vacuuming)?
Can corydoras eat betta pellets that fall to the ground? They are pretty small and probably get stuck beneath the gravel.

Thanks

I put my filter on the lowest setting, which is actually rasining the intake tube. I can't turn the filter off because it takes forever for it to start up again...

You can get one of those 'feeding rings' that attach to the side of the tank. You can then put the betta food in there and the ring will prevent it from floating away with the current.

I just read about them two days ago. It seems like quite a bit of work b/c the top is really weird. The top's not on a hinge, it's a light in a plastic case that is placed on a plastic cover.

Anywho, that's a good idea and I'll no doubt buy the feeding ring. Thanks. :D
