Male Betta Help

Ok so my male betta spyro, has something a lil odd with him thats bugging me and i want to treat, but 1stly i need to find out what it is so i can treat with the right meds

His ventrils, seem to have to lil yellow dots hanging off the end, and his caudial(spelling) has a lil bit too

water stats i do not have as of yet (im getting ready to take the bike out)

however, he gets a 50%water change every 3 days in his 4gallon, is fed pellets, bloodworm, shrimp, he has a healthy diet

the other day i saw him flick against his pot, but im not sure whether this was bcoz i startled him

any ideas and input would be great

Yellow spots are velvet.
Shine a torch on him to see if they glow up with tanks lights out.
If he's flicking and rubbing sounds like velvet.
Also there a desease called yellow grub.

its gone now?? how odd, but it wasnt velvet, looked like almost a soggy flake stuck to him

just shined a torch on him to make sure, only shiney colouring is the pearly colour on his scales (bluey)

ive added a low dose of myaxin to be on the safe side, and will treat for the stated amount of days, atleast that way i can be rest assured that if there was or is anything lurking, its gonna be sorted

seems fine, no signs of anything sinister, but will continue for the other 3 days just to be sure



while i have u here wilder, i have my mums male betta living with me, and he has always had a rather large mouth that doesnt seem to shut, is this anything to worry about?

Do you mean the mouth really open wide.
Open mouth can mean there something lodged in the mouth, sores in the mouth, locked jaw, or a dislocated jaw.
Somtimes you have to wrap the fish in a cloth soak in tank water to move the mouth back in position if it's dislocated..
Does the mouth look swollen, also does the face of the fish look swollen.

no hes always been like it, but it did make me wonder what it was, but he moves his mouth fine, will try get a pic
