would it be possible to keep a male with three or more females in one tank without having problems?

I would say no, I've asked this before and got told that even if there was no fighting etc. that the male would get exhausted and possibly die of exhaustion from chasing the females around all the time

gneraly... no, not a good idea.

i have a male in with a group of about 10 females at the moment, but they are almost all his sisters and has never been away from them. if i had him on his own for a even a few days out of sight from his sisters, i garuentee his attitude (and theirs) would be different.

Just ask me, those little troublemakers, 20 minutes ago a male I have separate escaped, and the females really got his fins, it's a good thing I pulled him out of there. He does that occasionaly, but he is alright.

sounds like the females were telling him to get out of there tank. glad he's alright!
thanks guys!

i kept 2 sister females and a male in the same tank for years they were all fine and never bothered each other but im not going to try it again

so bettas can recognize their own siblings? that awesome :hyper:
not realy no, they are just used to each other having never been seperated, like i said, if i removed him and had him in his own space for a few days, then try to put him back in with his sisters.... well... it wouldnt be so prety.
