Hi all,
just changed my set up from a com to Malawi.Got rid of under gravel filter and am now just running with the in hood filter. The tank is an aqua one 850 of about 165L.The filter spec is 1000L an Hr atleast thats what the spec sheet says, just cant see that myself, but thats what it says.Does anyone know any differant. There are 10 fish in tank at the moment each being approx 1.5 inches along with a plec.A new tank (4 ft) is comeing at xmass, so the real question is will the set up cope until then. All seems fine at the moment (3 weeks in)

Hi :)

I have my 980 set up as a Malawi, it is the same tank but holds 215L instead of 165L.

The inbuilt filter was not enough for the equivalent of 13 1.5 inch fish which is why I have an external on there now. So I would recommend that you watch for that.

Also the tank is not all that big so you need to watch for aggression too.

You should be fine till Christmas, just be aware of the two point I mentioned above.

(If you want to see what I am doing with mine, send me a PM)

that tank should just about cope till xmas once cycled, like the other person mentioned ( sorry bad with names ) keep a eye on the aggression. also yeas i would advise you will need better filtration. get yourself a good little external filter.

hope this helps
