Making Your Own Tank.

Hi all im thinking of making my own tank using 10mm acrylic instead of glass. Is this possible. I have found a place that will cut and polish the acrylic for me all i would have to do is use aquarium silicone and stick it together lol. Has anybody got any tips for me .
