You can purchase Nutrafin diffusers at BigAlsOnline for about 10 dollars, so if I get two of these and hook them up to a DIY yeast/sugar/water mixture in a 2l bottle, they will disperse CO2 throughout my 29g aquarium?

So this yeast mixture actually has the ability to force the C02 out of the bottle? Or do I need to add something else to build up enough pressure to force the CO2 out?

Also, how should the diffusers be placed relative to one another and the filter / heater?

2 units should be plenty. The yeast mix will build enough pressure alright, don't worry about that!
As far from the filter and as deep as possible would be ideal....or plumb the co2 into your filter intake. Details in the pinned thread, i think?
